A hot cup of tea is an instant remedy for brisk mornings and chilly evenings. Cooler weather can make you forget to drink enough water, but tea keeps you hydrated while feeling more satisfying than cold drinks.

The ritual of steeping tea and wrapping your hands around the mug has a calming, grounding effect — a kind of mindfulness that helps you slow down as the days get shorter.

To enhance the sensory connection to the Fall season, drink teas that include apple, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, cardamom, or pumpkin ingredients.

As daylight hours lessen and temperatures drop, tea can help regulate mood and energy. Teas make a great transitional seasonal beverage.

  • Matcha or green tea can gently lift energy levels in the darker months, while chamomile or lavender teas help with relaxation and better sleep as nights grow longer.

  • Green tea is rich in antioxidants like catechins, which help the immune system fend off seasonal colds and viruses.

Typically taking a tablespoon of loose leaf tea to a cup of boiling water is a great ratio. The longer you seep the more medicinal the benefits are.
